See How They Like Sacrifice

from Politics by Will Good and The Mattes

/

about

I am sick to death of millionaire cabinet ministers telling me to tighten my belt and various privileged tits lining their pockets at my expense, all the while avoiding paying the taxes the country needs to stay on its feet.

lyrics

Landlord, landlord, pity me
I have no coins to pay my rent
My wage is for my family
Still hungry when the money’s spent

Times are hard for all these days
But there’s no right to paradise
I’ve got the bailiffs on their way
To help you with your sacrifice

Shopkeeper, you would help me
Or make believe that it is so
But to debt and penury
Is the path you’d have me follow

Times are hard for all these days
But there’s no right to paradise
Food aplenty if you pay
So you must choose your sacrifice

Member of the Parliament
Whose promises some voted for
Tell this to your Government
The day has come to help the poor

Times are hard for all these days
But there’s no right to paradise
My pension and expenses paid
Before we talk of sacrifice

Tell the lucky few they must
Learn to share with us their profit
They would have us pay the cost
And keep their lucre in their pockets

Times are hard for all these days
But there’s no right to paradise
Take their riches all away
Then see how they like sacrifice
